1. Why did God create you?  When God created the frist people, Adam and Eve, He wanted them to love Him and live for Him and obey Him at all times. This is why God created you. The Bible says…

Genesis 1:31a, “And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good…”

Revelation 4:11, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou has created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.”

1 Corinthians 10:31, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” 

2. Everyone has a problem: SIN! Adam and Eve chose to disobey God. As result, all people are born with a sin nature. Sin is anything you think, say, or do that breaks God’s law. The Bible says…

Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Romans 3:10-12, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:…there is none that seeketh after God…there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

3. Sin has a punishment: DEATH! When Adam chose to disobey God, God punished him for it. Our sin and disobedience deserves God’s punishment as well. Death is more than just dying and being buried in the ground. That is called physical death. Death also includes being eternally separated from god in a place of eternal punishment. That place is called Hell or the Lake of Fire. This is called the “second death” or “eternal death.” The Bible says…

Romans 5:12, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.”

Romans 6:23a, “For the wages of sin is death…”

Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Revelation 10:15, “And whosoever was not foind in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

4. Then how can I have eternal life in heaven? People have tried many different ways to get to Heaven, but the Bible says there is only one way to Heaven. Thinking and believing you can “pay” for your sins by doing good works (i.e. being good, going to church, helping others, paying your bills, etc.) to earn eternal life in heaven is wrong. The Bible says…

Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Isaiah 64:6, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

Titus 3:5a, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us…”

Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

5. Christ made the payment: He was our Sinless substitute.The only payment God will accept is Jesus Christ, God’s sinless Son, Who was sent to earth by God the Father to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross. Futhermore, we see how much God loves His creation. The Bible says…

Romans, 5:8, “But God commendeth [proved, showed] His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 Peter 3:18a, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.”

6. We are given forgiveness by turning and trusting.How do you cross the bridge to eternal life? You must repent of your sins and put your trust in Jesus alone as your only hope of eternal life. The word repent means to confess (agree with God) your sins to God with the desire to not keep sinning, but to obey God and do His will. You place your trust in Jesus Christ by doing the following. First, you believe that He lived a pefect (sinless) life, died on the cross for your sins, and rose from the dead. Second, you call upon Him to be your personal Lord and Savior. The Bible says…

Acts 3:19a, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…”

Acts 16:31a, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…”

Romans 10:9-10, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Romans 10:13,  “For ‘whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.’”

1 Corinthians 15:3-4, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”

7. We are given God’s promise: ETERNAL LIFE! If we listen to and obey God’s Word, and believe that He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, we are given (did you catch that?) eternal life. Eternal life (salvation) is a gift there is nothing you can do to earn it you just have to receive it! The Bible says…

John 5:24, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.”

8. It is God’s will for you to receive this everlasting gift of eternal life! The Bible says…

2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

Finally, will you turn from your sins and believe in only Jesus as your Lord and Savior today? To do so, you must…

1) Admit that you have sinned against God, decide that you want to obey Him and ask Him for forgiveness.

2) Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God Who died for you on the cross, rose from the dead, and is Lord.

3) Call upon Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.

Again, I boldly state, standing on the authority of Scirpture, that what you have just read is the ONLY WAY to heaven. There is no other way but this way! All other ways are false and deceptive and will lead you to hell. Once again the Bible says… John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
