About Pastor Jonas Harley
At the age of 10, under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, I understood that my sin was separating me from a personal relationship with God (Romans 3:23) and that if I died I would spend eternity in hell (Romans 6:23) and on top of that there was nothing I could do in my own strength, works, or ideas to establish this relationship (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5). I learned that the work was already DONE for me by a very loving God (John 3:16; Romans 5:8) Who sent His sinless Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to die on the cross and on the 3rd day He arose from the grave (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)! I obeyed the Bible and repented (turned) from my sin (1 John 1:9) and received the gift of salvation by asking Jesus to come into my heart to save me (Romans 10:9-13)! I praise God for my salvation!
Therefore, God has given me the wonderful desire to preach and serve in full-time ministry when I was a senior in high school and has given me the special privilege to serve as an Associate Pastor at Catawba Springs Christian Church in Apex, NC. My responsibilities include Teen ministry, Awana ministry, Vacation Bible School, Media ministry, and whatever else daily ministry requires. I have a wonderful and sweet wife, Charity, and we love serving the Lord together, enjoying the great outdoors, and spending time with our son Justin!
I want to do everything I can to help YOU take your next step spiritually. If you are unsaved then your first step is to repent from your sins and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart to save you (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10). If you are saved, then you must be seeking to grow spiritually every day (Philippians 2:12-13) and I want to help encourage you and point you in a biblical direction.
About “Side by Side”
The Bible states in Philippians 1:27 that we as Christians must be “…striving together for the faith of the gospel.” So “Side by Side” will be one of many tools seeking to obey this biblical command.
Therefore, I have designed this blog as a way for me to come along your side and help encourage you to take your next step spiritually as we co-labor - “Side by Side” - in advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ locally, nationally, and internationally (Acts 1:8). On this blog you will find a variety of articles, biblical principles, resources, books, tools, and ideas all relating to the Christian life that will edify and help you grow spiritually.
I pray this will be a blessing to you and I would love to hear how God is working in your life. Please spread the word about this blog to everyone you know, saved or unsaved, as we serve “Side by Side” to win the lost to Christ and to help Christians grow spiritually!

What a great idea, too! The quotes are excellent (may use some myself:), the simple plan of salvation is much needed on anyone’s blog, and I appreciated your thoughts and comments regarding recent things that the Lord is teaching you…. praying that this will be a great tool for many!

Hey, Pastor Jonas, this is sooo cool!!!!! I didn’t really know what to expect when you told us about it. I think it’s going to be a great help especially for remembering some of your messages.
I do not spend much time on Blogs or Facebook but I will find time to read Side by Side messages. We all need encouragement and support for our Christian walk.

Hey Jonas! Loved the Facebook presentation. Mom just went to a workshop on social networking and, apparently, Facebook keeps anything that you put on your profile for 15 years. Which is ridiculous, but all more to be careful what we think others. Keep the website up! It looks fantastic!
